Stella is at such a fun age and is constantly making us laugh with her facial expressions and conversations. She can be quite bossy and it is hard to keep a straight face when it goes from funny to disrespectful.
She likes to play mommy and baby with Isa. She will say, "You be the mama and I be the baby, okay sweetie?" Then she runs around yelling, "Mama!" I get confused and ask her what she needs. She stops to say, "No, you not the mama. Isa the mama. You the grandma."
She loves to "cook" upstairs in her kitchen and asks me to come to her 'westerwont' (restaurant). The restaurant is always out of everything except for 'shu-shee' (sushi) and hotdogs. She will set a pot in front of me, point her finger at my face and say, "It's hot. Don't touch it. You understand me?!" Yes, ma'am.
My favorite word she says is "Skubetti" (spaghetti). She says it with an Italian accent which makes all of us giggle. "Skubetti! Skubetti!"
She still depends on lambie to go to sleep. We couldn't find it the other night and she laid in her crib sobbing and muttering "lambie...lambie...lambie....."
She has learned the art of tattling. She will come running into the room and pronounce, "Mama, Mama. The boys are saying potty talk." She repeats it over and over again until I thank her or address it with them.
We have been giving her two M&Ms for her and for her siblings every time she goes on the potty. She loves handing them out. A few days ago Sam and Isaac were playing so she took six M&Ms upstairs. Two for her and two for each of them. Sam and Isaac both took 3 out of her hand because they thought she was giving them each 3. Oh. my. They broke her heart. She slowly climbed down the stairs repeating, "Sam and Isaac took 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11!" Slight exaggeration.
She loves 'reading' books to herself and to her babies. It is one of my favorite things to listen to. She knows just enough about her favorite books to make up a few lines on each page. She says a lot of "And HE said...." or "And SHE said...."
I forget she isn't even 2 and 1/2 years old because she is just one of the gang now in conversations and play.
Sadly, she is only napping 1-2 days a week now. She spends the time in her crib playing and taking her sheets, mattress pad and clothes off. Stinker.
Drew said today at lunch, "I know they (Sam and Stella) can be a handful but I am kind of jealous you get to spend all day with them." It's a joy and I am so thankful for every day with them.
