Instagram Post

I got Drew a fancy pants iphone for our 10th anniversary/Father's Day/Birthday/Christmas this year.  It's the gift that keeps on giving the whole year round.  In the two weeks that he has had his phone, I have gotten really lazy about taking my camera places.  Instagram is so handy to have.

Eloisa and her bff, Laynie.  They were waiting for a ride to preschool and were calling themselves "the Guatemala girls".  Las chapinas!
My mom came down to keep us company during Drew's LAST weekend at Indiana State.  Coursework is done and now he is on to the dissertation.  A big congratulations to my husband!  He worked his tail off the past two years and we're so proud of him.  A big thank you to my mom for her great company during Drew's on-campus weekends the past two years.  The two years have gone by so fast for me.  I am sure Drew doesn't feel the same way.

The kids love playing this Curious George Hide and Seek Zoo game.  The panda bear is terrible at hiding.  She hyperventilates with excitement which gives away her location every time.
Sam requested his hat and cape to ride to the grill.  I love his confidence.
Isa's preschool had Dad's Day last Thursday and they went bowling.

"There are two kinds of people who go bowling.  There are people who really, really love bowling.  And then there are people who are like-wouldn't it be hysterical if we went bowling?"

"Bowling has to be a germaphobe's nightmare.  Here, put on these moist shoes 10,000 people have worn and stick your fingers in these dirty holes.  Now you have the flu."  Jim Gaffigan
This photo cracks me up.  Good form, Isa.
 Friends.
The Kahler fam was down to see us today and spent the day here.  It was great to be with them all.  Stella and Sophie are 6 weeks apart in age.  Stella looks like a 3 year old giant next to perfectly petite and precious, Sophie.  These girls hit and pulled hair and pushed and sat on each other.  Sweethearts.
Our friend, Oliver, had a birthday party yesterday.  His talented dad set up a green screen and then photoshopped their pictures into the background of their choice.
Isa refused to use a prop.
Sam takes his job of Jedi Master very seriously.

Drew took Wednesday off and we spent the day together which was won.der.ful!  It was our first time going to Matter Park in Marion.  How in the world does Marion, IN have the nicest park I have ever been to?  We were the only ones there and had so much fun.  We found a local pizza dive to eat at for lunch which in Benjamin's words was "surprisingly good".

My mom came down for the week to care for and love on us.  It was wonderful to have her here.  We were sad to send her back to Ohio this morning.

Isa is an aspiring seamstress.  Any time I am trying to fix something, she begs for a needle and thread and something to sew.  I find the dullest needle I have and let her have at it.  She needs to be taking lessons from Nana if she wants to learn to do anything well.  You should never look too closely at my finished projects.

We sent Isa off to preschool and then spent some more time outside.

Eyes

It's been a really tough week on Taylor's campus as we have grieved the loss of a student that lived in our home, Morris Hall.  It's been chilly outside but it's been good for the kids and I to get outside and play while daddy works.  Photograph therapy.

These next two photos came out way too light.  Not sure what I had wrong.  Shutter speed?   I hit some "warmify" button in Picasa and it redeemed the photos a little bit.

Every year the Zeeb family has an egg hunt in their huge backyard.  It's such a fun time for the adults and kids.  Drew and I weren't able to go this year but Gwen was kind enough to take our kids.  I was delighted to find out that Traci of Traci Falder Photography snapped a few pictures of Stella and Benjamin.  Made me feel like I was there.

5 Pounds Lighter

One of Isa's friends had her hair cut off for Locks of Love over a year ago.  Eloisa told me she wanted to do that too.  So we have been growing it and growing it and growing it and growing it.  She is so sick of it--as am I.  A friend at Taylor offered to check her hair and tell me how much longer Isa would have to let it grow.  The answer was, "through the end of the summer."  I asked Isa what she wanted to do and she said, "Cut it!"  She can try for Locks of Love when she is older and doesn't scream and fight me every time we have to comb her hair.  She looks darling and she is so excited--as am I!

Thank you, Kara!

Snorkling

I am not sure where this idea came from but Isa asked me for an egg carton and straw the other day.  She came out of the craft room like this and said she wanted to go underwater.  Good luck breathing through that.

Look Who's Toot Scooting

Drew's dad came up to spend some of the day with us today.  It was beautiful out.
Isa discovered this gum on the pavement and decided it would be fun to play in.  Sick.  While Drew was inside cleaning her up and telling her to use her brain, Stella and Sam had to tell me all about it.  "Yucky!" Stella kept saying.
And look who is almost tall enough to start riding around.  Papa graciously helped her balance as she tip- toed around the sidewalk and back into the apartment.

 Before church cuteness.
