A friend of mine was kind enough to send me a few pictures from Benjamin's graduation. They had a cute little program and then we all enjoyed cake and punch.

Oh how the years go by!
Benjamin, you are such a sweet little man. I love your heart. I love that you are so kind and compassionate and giving. I love to hear you pray with such sincerity and joy. I love to watch you giggle at your brother and sister. I love to watch you make them giggle. I love to watch your eyes light up when you feel your baby sister moving in my womb. I love to watch you dance. I love that you still love to snuggle even though you barely fit on my lap anymore. These past 5 years have absolutely flown by and you have been such a constant source of joy and laughter in our home. We love YOU! Happy Birthday to you, sweet Benjamin Charles!

Race Into Summer
Yesterday Benjamin's preschool class had a box car race. Benjamin's heat was the most uneventful. I laughed so hard for most of the other races. They were all so cute.

5th Birthday Party
Benjamin doesn't turn 5 until next Sunday. However, Taylor's graduation is next weekend so we decided to celebrate a week early. Benjamin got this awesome woody outfit from Uncle Matt and Aunt Julie. He was so pumped. He also got a Buzz Lightyear shirt from them so he switched back and forth for a good hour before the party started. 
Lots of Toy Story presents going on this year. Our kids started watching Toy Story 1 and 2 at the perfect time since it is all the rage again.
Isa looks a little possessed in this picture. She is trying to figure out how to make Buzz her toy. She even snuck it into her room tonight and stuck it with her toys. Hilarious.
We had his party down by Taylor Lake. He was so thrilled to invite six of his preschool friends to join him. They loved playing in the sand and wore most of it home with them. It's now in the bottom of my tub.
A month ago, Benjamin asked for a Toy Story party. Hence all the Toy Story gifts. Then, he said he wanted a CARS party....and then Star Wars....and then two days ago Batman. Thankfully, I never bought any themed items. So yesterday he and I worked on a Batman crown (which I completely forgot about until right now) and his cupcake toppers. Not the strongest themed party but he was happy so that's all that matters.
They tried very hard to catch fish.
And they were so thrilled when one of the dads caught two. 
It was a wonderful evening!

Sam's Belly
At the doctor's office today, there were a lot of big, pregnant bellies in the waiting room. Samuel asked Drew to put his bear under his shirt. He walked around the waiting room with his lumpy bear under his shirt and the bear's legs dangling out. Oh yes, he got lots of laughs. I missed most of it because they were waiting on me while I met with the doctor.

She kept putting her pointer finger up which Benjamin thought was hilarious and awesome. 
The woman that performed the ultrasound kept commenting on her long, big toes. At one point she said, "I think her second toe is longer than her big toe." Ah, she and her Uncle Josh will have a special bond. 
The kids did well. Benjamin was all smiles and "awww, she's so cute" comments. Eloisa was most interested in listening to the heartbeat and kept asking her to do it again. Samuel spent most of his time concerned and frustrated. He did not like me lying down up on the table. He kept demanding, "Get down, mama!" He barely looked at the screen but just kept his eyes glued to my belly and the lady pushing on it.

Running for fun(?)!
Last weekend I ran my first ever official race, the Riverbank 25K (15.6 miles) in Grand Rapids, MI. Above is my good friend Josh and I approaching the finish line. It was a cold, windy, and rainy day, but the weather cleared up just enough to run without me wanting to crawl into the fetal position.If you are at all a runner/jogger, I highly recommend an official race. It's basically an entire morning where people inflate your ego. Complete strangers clap for you, and tell you how great you're doing. They give you food and drinks around every turn, and when you cross the finish line, you get a medal and more free food! What's not to like about that!?
In June, I run the full Sunburst Marathon in South Bend, Indiana. I'm trying not to think about the fact that the Riverbank was about 10.5 miles shy of a full marathon. Ugh.
I do, however, look forward to finishing the marathon by entering Notre Dame's football stadium and crossing the 50 yard line (and, I'm sure, collapsing). That will be fun.

Zoo Day!
Benjamin's preschool took a field trip to the Fort Wayne Children's Zoo today. It was perfect weather and the whole family went along. Fun, fun!

Climbing all over the statue at the entrance. Like monkeys.
Sam was very excited about the florescent orange birds in this area.
I found these shirts for $2 at Target and had to get them for zoo day.
Isa and Sam had a hilarious time in this jeep while they waited for Drew and Benjamin to come off the Sky Ride. When Isa was driving she was "going to church" and when Sam was driving he was "going to get cookies and ice cream".
Terrible picture below but such a cute story. Drew said when they took off and got further and further away from the ground Benjamin was just bouncing with excitement. He then got still and said, "Daddy?" in a really sweet tone. Drew was thinking he was going to say, "I love you!" or "Thanks for coming with me!" as he often does. But instead he said, "What happens if my shoes fall off?" Drew cracked up but then got worried that they would fall off since his new Crocs are still a little big so he ended up holding them for the ride.
What is the best way to end a day in the sun? A little Homestead Ice Cream of course! After the zoo, we drove to OH. The kids are staying with my mom this weekend while we head up to Grand Rapids for a 25K that I am running. Ha. Just kidding. Drew is running it and I will be relaxing with a coffee, book and friend.
